The innovative Sustained Release Technology of Seresto collars provides effective flea and tick protection in an easy-to-apply, non-greasy collar.

seresto-8mnthTruly unique technology for your dog.

Seresto collars is a unique polymer matrix collar that offers a continuous supply of two active ingredients: imidacloprid and flumethrin for effective 8-month protection against fleas and ticks. That’s one convenient, non-greasy, odorless flea and tick collar instead of 8 monthly treatments.

The active ingredients are stored within the collar. They are released in low concentrations and are distributed over your dog”s hair and skin surface for 8 months. As active ingredients wear off over time, Seresto collars for dogs continuously replenishes the skin and coat with a new supply of active ingredients. Fleas and ticks are killed through contact with the active ingredients – no biting required.

USEFUL INFORMATION

One collar per animal to be fastened around the neck. Remove collar from bag directly before use. Unroll collar and make sure that there no remnants from the plastic connectors inside the collar.

  • Insert end of the collar through the buckle. Adjust the collar around the animal’s neck without tightening it too tight or leaving it too loose.
  • As a guide, it should be possible to only insert 2 fingers comfortably between the collar and the neck.
  • Pull excess collar thru the loop(s). Collar length of greater that 1 inch (2cm) beyond the loop(s) should be cut off unless it is on a growing puppy, where some additional length may be needed for adjustment as the animal grows.
  • After application of the collar, three reflector clips may be fixed permanently to the collar to increase the animal’s visibility in the dark. Take the clips out of the bag. The clips should be evenly distributed on the non-overlapping part of the collar. The clips are correctly applied when a clicking sound is heard. For safety reasons once the reflectors are fixed to the collar the clasp closes permanently and cannot be re-opened.

The collar should be worn continuously for the 8 month protection period. Check periodically and adjust fit if necessary, especially when puppies are rapidly growing. Rarely, mild application site reactions may occur, such as scratching, redmess and hairloss, which usually recover within 1-2 weeks without the need for collar removal. In some cases, temporary collar removal and bathing may be recommended until symptoms have disappeared. In very rare cases, application site reactions, such as dermatitis, inflammation, eczema or lesions may occur. In these instances, immediately. If your animal is on medicaiton, consult your veterinarian before using this or any other product.

This collar is designed with a release mechanism. In the unlikely event of a dog being trapped, the dog’s own strength is sufficient to widen the collar to allow for quick release. Replace the collar after 8 months for optimal tick and flea protection.

I’ve been using these collars on my ~ 65lb mix-breed rescue for many years. While fleas aren’t a big problem for our area, ticks most definitely are. I’d been using cheaper brand collars and frequently found ticks on him after off-leash hikes in the fields & wooded areas nearby. After trying some of the topical monthly things like Advantix, etc., and not liking the application process, the disgusting greasy feeling it would leave, or the amount of dirt the grease-spot would collect in his fur (he’s a dog, he likes to take “dust baths” and there’s plenty of dust around here), I decided to try these Seresto collars. I can say that I’ve never once found a tick on him since we’ve started to use the collars. While we don’t have much of a flea problem locally, we have visited places that do yet I’ve never found a flea on him either. In my mind, these are the real deal and the best value for “per dog” flea & tick control. I highly recommend these collars if you need a serious solution for flea & tick issues.

I was initially a bit skeptical to order this product as it didn’t seem possible that it would last 8 months as stated. But this is the third set I have ordered for my two husky mix dogs, and am now a believer. In fact, I forgot that it had been longer than 8 months since my last order, but it dawned on me when I started to see them scratching that I had I needed to order right away. Within 2 days of receiving and putting them on my dogs, all scratching stopped. I don’t use the reflective tags, but otherwise they are easy to put on your dog. Just remove from tin/plastic wrapping, then uncoil. Once uncoiled, I used a pair of scissors to cut off the nibs that run along the collar. They are what keeps the collars coiled when in packaging. So easy to use and the best part is knowing that my babies are protected.

This product works great! It does seem to take a little while to work however. I have read the same thing on other reviews. It works by releasing the active ingredient with the movement of the dog. So make sure it is snug enough to slightly rub the skin without causing pain or discomfort. My Pebbles is 13 and she has a pretty bad allergy to flea bites. Most of her hair past her shoulder blades was gone. She had sores and scars on her back. The flea topical drops didn’t work. I tried a lot of things before I purchased Seresto. I am so happy I made the investment. It worked well on my second dog, Pierre, as well. After about a month of wear I noticed a difference. And now after a few months we still have no biting, no more hair loss, and Pebbles actually gained a little weight from an increased appetite (which I attribute to her being happier!) I will purchase this product again when the time comes. It is well worth the money, and actually cheaper than buying the drops every three months.

Better than Frontline or any other topical application. Not invasive. My doberman used to break out and get dry skin patches where I applied topical tick protection. This is exactly like the old fashioned flea/tick collars. This is the first complete season I have not found ticks on the dog, OR me (from ones that have jumped off the dog). Great product.

This is by far the best flea and tick deterrent I have used! And I have used them all! I have a 140lb Rottie and a 50lb lab mix and I used these for both. I get them in early spring and they last until fall. In fact when I took them off this year, after the first really cold weather, they were still keeping fleas and ticks away. We have used them twice so far and will get them again. I have seen no irritation or adverse effects on either dogs. They are water proof as my pups swim a lot.The only thing is that my dogs play rough so I have to be sure they don’t yank them off each other so we fasten them with a zip tie and that works well. They are plenty big enough for my big boy and I have to cut excess off so I am sure it will fit a large neck. I highly recommend these!!

We have been using seresto collars on our 47lb short haired dog for three years now with amazing success. We live rural and our dog spends a *lot* of time off leash in the woods. Ticks are huge, horrible, problem here. Before these collars, I would pick so many ticks off the dog after being out – my record is 36 (and that’s literally after about 2hrs in the woods). We tried literally everything else: nexguard (vet prescribed pill) it did kill any ticks that bit her, but didn’t stop her bringing them into the house. However, this collar works. And it works perfectly. When it’s on her, she literally never has ticks. If you live somewhere where ticks are a real problem, I highly recommend this collar. It works, and, at this stage, that’s all I care about.
